Victor Loesche Sr.

[February 06, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Victor E. Loesche Sr., 94, of Lincoln, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at 7:28 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

His body will be cremated and there will be no services.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mr. Loesche started the Western Auto store, which he owned and operated for years under the name of Vic's Sports and Auto.

He was born Aug. 8, 1915, in St. Louis, Mo., to Albert and Nellie Britonstein Loesche. He married Margaret Garvelman on Dec. 18, 1937, in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 1995.

He is survived by two sons, Victor E. (and Margaret) Loesche Jr. of Wellington, Nev., and Charles Loesche of New York, N.Y.; one daughter, Susan (and David) Hanger of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Troy (and Stacy) Hanger, Mark (and Rosemary) Hanger, Jeff Hanger, Victor E. (and Sharon) Loesche III and Leah (and Michael) King; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Alberta.
