Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel
Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Andrew Nyren
officiating. Visitation will be at the church from
10 until 11 a.m. Burial will be in New Union
Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Peasley Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Miss Schmidt had an extensive working career,
including positions with the IRS in Springfield,
General Mills in Chicago, and similar positions in
Denver and San Francisco. She then served as
activities director for a retirement home in
Evanston, after which she retired to Berwyn.
She was born Jan. 31, 1916. Her parents were
Frederick and Clara Schmidt.
She is survived by two brothers, Ralph E. (and
Opal) Schmidt of Lincoln and David C. Schmidt of
Elgin, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers
and their spouses: Earl (and Mary) Schmidt, Alvin
(and Louise) Schmidt and Leslie (and Viola) Schmidt.
She was a member of the Berwyn United Lutheran
Church.
Memorials may be made to St. Clara's Manor,
Immanuel Lutheran Church or Feed the Children
organization of Oklahoma City, Okla.
