Accidents Vehicle owner allows child to drive
On July 17 at 4:49 p.m. police reported on an accident on South
College Street, where an adult had allowed an unlicensed child under
the age of 16 to drive a vehicle out of a private driveway.
The youth pulled out of the driveway into oncoming traffic,
striking a passing motorist. The child was cited for having no
driver’s license, and the owner of the vehicle was cited for
allowing an unauthorized person to operate a motor vehicle.
Parking lot incident at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital
Accident occurred at 12:01 a.m. on July 20.

Wonsavage, Doris A., 66-year-old
female, Lincoln; 1999 Buick Century Limited
Sherwood said that she was turning across the parking lot,
preparing to exit, and due to rain on her windshield, did not see
the unoccupied vehicle owned by Wonsavage and struck it.
Incident at the intersection
Accident occurred at 10:03 p.m. on July 19 at the intersection of
Broadway and South Kickapoo.

20-year-old male, Elk Grove Village; 2001 Honda Civic

Kasa, Paul R., 52-year-old male,
Lincoln; 2002 Dodge Stratus
Panfil said he was eastbound on Broadway and believed he had the
green light as he entered the intersection. Kasa was also entering
the intersection, from the south. The two collided in the center of
the intersection.

Lincoln Police Department reports for Wednesday, July 21

Holt, Brittney K.,
26-year-old female, of Lincoln, arrested July 20 at her
residence on Class A charge of retail theft.

Shawgo, Peter A., 44-year-old male, of
Lincoln, arrested July 21 on Lincoln Parkway at Nicholson Road
on Class A charge of driving with a license suspended. Vehicle
was towed from the scene.
Logan County Sheriff's Department report for Wednesday, July 21
- Burger, Raymond E., 53-year-old male, of Lincoln, arrested
July 20 at the Logan County Safety Complex on a Logan County
warrant for failure to appear. Bond was set at $300 cash.
Mount Pulaski Police Department report for Wednesday, July 21
- McIntosh, Matthew H., 28-year-old male, of Sullivan,
arrested July 21 on Illinois Route 121 at 1750th Avenue near
Mount Pulaski on two Coles County warrants, one for failure to
appear and another for contempt of court. Bond was set at $650
total cash for the two.
