Beverly Harrison

[July 31, 2010]  FORSYTH -- Beverly Jean Harrison, 72, of Forsyth, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at 6:32 a.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Northwest Christian Church in Decatur. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with Ron Collins, Steve Higgs and Norman McCormick officiating.

Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Mount Pulaski is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harrison retired after 25 years with the Visiting Nurses Association, where she served as office manager.

She was born July 28, 1938, in Latham. Her parents were Clarence and Doris Fuiten Duncan. She married Dwite "Gene" Harrison on June 9, 1956, in Decatur.

She is survived by her husband, of Forsyth; one son, Scott (and Laura) Harrison of Decatur; one daughter, Susan (and Chris) Zeras of Maitland, Fla.; two granddaughters, Lindsey and Lily; and special family friends Mike and Sherry Fisher and family of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother.

She was a member of Northwest Christian Church of Decatur. With her church, she was active in teaching Sunday school, youth group, VBS and Little Galilee Christian Camp.

Funeral Director

Bev was a lifetime member of the PTA for the Decatur schools. She was also a 15-year volunteer with her husband in working with youth baseball at Hess Park and in Khoury League.

Bev was a mother to many and friend to all. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.

Memorials may be made to the property committee of Northwest Christian Church in Decatur.
