[June 03, 2010]  LINCOLN -- George A. Wieber, 88, of Lincoln, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at 8:20 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at New Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Andrew Nyren officiating.

His body was cremated.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mr. Wieber was a retired Logan County farmer.

During World War II he served in the Marine Corps as a navigator in the Pacific Theater.

He was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Lincoln. His parents were Edward G. and Emma Duesing Wieber. He married Dorothy J. Rademaker on Feb. 23, 1946, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 1980.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin (and Jamie) Wieber of Lincoln and Dennis (and Cindy) Wieber of Mahomet; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Rodney; his special companion of 20 years, Rosetta Dolson; two brothers, Edward and Ralph Wieber; and one sister, Mary Louise Tolles.

Funeral Director

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
