Billy Hamilton

[June 05, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Billy Joe Hamilton, 78, of Lincoln, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Jefferson Street Christian Church, with Craig Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Pulaski Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Hamilton was a longtime farmer in Logan County and was also a Moews seed corn dealer.  

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was born Nov. 13, 1931, in Lincoln. His parents were Henry and Pearl Ingram Hamilton. He married Arlene Shanle on May 21, 1966, in Cornland.

He is survived by wife, of Lincoln; two daughters, Lynette (and Russ) Kaltenbach of Herculeaneum, Mo., and Linda Schurter of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; one brother, Jim (and Mary) Hamilton of Beason; a sister-in-law, Pat Hamilton of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Hamilton.

Billy was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church and Lincoln American Legion Post 263.

Funeral Directors

Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 263 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
