Bennett Funeral Home.

Catholic Church. |
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr.
Martin was once a New York state policeman, a
Lincoln Rural firefighter, drove an ambulance in
Logan County for several years, taught driver's
education for 15 years, was a supervisor at
Stetson's China and later retired from Lehn & Fink
after many years with the company.
He served in the tank corps in the U.S. Army,
fighting in the Battle of the Bulge during World War
II.
He was born April 27, 1919, in Baldwinsville,
N.Y. His parents were Richard and Ruth Edwards
Martin. He married Mildred "Millie" Duda on Oct. 15,
1940, in Syracuse, N.Y. She preceded him in death in
2006.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy McCullough

Lincoln; five grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and his sweetheart, Mary Ann

leader for several years.

Springfield, the Lincoln Knights of Columbus,
Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. |
He served on the Logan County Planning and Zoning
Commission.
He was a volunteer at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital and Family Medical Center for nearly 30
years.
In addition to all of these community
organizations, Mickey always found time for his
family. Even with his list of activities, he took
time to enjoy the small things in life, like a hug
from his daughter or son. He followed each of his
grandchildren in whatever sport they were
participating in. Grandpa was their biggest fan.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lincoln
Baseball Association and will be accepted at the
funeral home.
