Charlene Bertram

[June 16, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Charlene F. Bertram, 75, of Lincoln, formerly of Stanford, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 6:30 a.m. at her home.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Stanford Church of God in Stanford, with Pastor Joe Magner officiating.

Visitation will be at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service time.

Burial will be in Brooks Grove Cemetery, rural Stanford.

Charlene Faye Bertram was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Heyworth. Her parents were Edgar and Lois Bishop Deatrick. She married Joel Thomas "J.T." Bertram on Nov. 20, 1960. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1988.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Audrey (and Jim) Bertram and Chasity, Emily Faye, Ashley and Ethan of Lincoln, Joel (and Terry) Bertram and J.J. and Maria of Paw Paw, and Pat (and Chris) Lawyer and Donald and Katelyn of Roachdale, Ind.; nephews Jimmie Deatrick and Johnnie Deatrick; four brothers, Donald Deatrick of Heyworth, Paul Deatrick of Wapella, Roger Deatrick of LeRoy and Delmar Deatrick of Bloomington; one sister, Margaret Spaulding of McLean; and many more adopted grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of the Stanford Church of God.

She loved all of her animals very much.

The family wishes a special thank-you to her best friend Vicki.
