Ronald Bowles

[June 24, 2010]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Ronald L. "Ronnie" Bowles, 59, of Mount Pulaski, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at 12:10 a.m. at his home.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with J.T. Thomason officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mr. Bowles was maintenance supervisor at Mount Pulaski Products.

He was born Aug. 29, 1950, in Lincoln to Weldon "Willie" and Lois Deibert Bowles. He married Gloria Matheny on June 14, 1969, in Mount Pulaski.

He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; two sons, Ronald (and Angela) Bowles of Lincoln and Bryan Bowles of Mount Pulaski; his mother, Lois Bowles of Mount Pulaski; two brothers, Larry (and Sandy) Bowles of Mount Pulaski and Randy (and Debie) Bowles of Mount Pulaski; one sister, Janet (and David) Naugle of Lawndale; two granddaughters, Alexis and Alexandria Bowles; and two stepgrandchildren, Paige and Breana Haynes.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church.

He was a member and president of the Mount Pulaski Athletic Association and was a coach, umpire and referee for the youth. He was also a member of Jaycees and of the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department, where he had been a firefighter, captain, assistant chief and chief.

Funeral Director

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Memorials may be made to the Family Life Center building fund at the Mount Pulaski Christian Church.
