ATLANTA -- Merlin B. Willmert, 82, of
Atlanta, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 12:10 a.m. at St.
Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home in Atlanta. No visitation is scheduled. |
Burial will be in
Atlanta Cemetery.
Mr. Willmert farmed in Atlanta and Eminence
townships his entire life. He also worked as a car
salesman for Fink Chevrolet in Emden for 25 years.
He was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Logan County. His
parents were George Adam and Caroline Gehlbach
Willmert. He married Jean Harmon on Oct. 9, 1945, in
Morganfield, Ky. She preceded him in death on Nov.
21, 2006, in Lincoln.
He is survived by three daughters, Carol (and
Bill) Blankenship, Marilyn (and Greg) Tucker and
Connie Dugan, all of Atlanta; six grandchildren,
Doug Blankenship, Julie Kiraly, Linette Birky, Todd
Dugan, Dianne Glazebrook and Adam Dugan; and 11
great-grandchildren, Logan Blankenship, Cameron
Blankenship, Zachary Chartres, Megan Birky, Brienna
Birky, Jade Dugan, Ethan Dugan, Lilly Dugan, Faith
Glazebrook, Heath Glazebrook and Marissa Dugan.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence
Willmert, and one great-granddaughter, Jayna Dugan.
Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue
Squad.
