WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- On their
spring trip, the Lincoln College baseball Lynx played in Winter
Haven, Fla., last week. Below is a report on their March 9 games
with Itasca Community College of Minnesota.

Game 1 -- The 9:30 a.m. start might have been a bit too early for
the Lynx against ninth-ranked Itasca. Lucas Utter got the start,
going two innings, giving up eight runs on four hits and four walks.
The lone bright spot for the Lynx (1-3) was Lincoln Railer grad
Colan Eigenbrod going 2-2. Xavier Gomez, Jason Pinkerton, Tyler
Wallin, Nate Blessman and Josh Cook each had a hit.
Game 2 -- The Lynx (2-4) bats woke up in the second game of the
day as five Lynx players collected at least two hits each: Xavier
Gomez 3-4, Zack Carpenter 3-4, Brandon Bryant 2-4, Brad Passini 2-3
and Jason Rohrer 2-4. Gomez swiped three bags, jumping his season
total to eight, and Carpenter dropped his second bomb of the season,
while each collected three RBIs. Carpenter was just a single shy of
hitting for the cycle, collecting nine total bases along the way.
Lucas Wright earned his victory in the first start of his young
collegiate career, pitching six innings and giving up one earned run
while striking out two.
