[March 22, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Eric D. Maas, 43, of Stonington, formerly of Lincoln, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at 1:22 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Pastor Mark Kaley officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.

Mr. Maas was the manager of the Macon Metals Plant in Taylorville.

He was born July 18, 1966, in Lincoln, a son of Gary and Brenda Walraven Maas. He married Regina Hickey on June 13, 1991, in Lincoln. She survives.

He is survived by his wife, of Stonington; his parents, of Lincoln; his children, Tisha Baylor of Mount Auburn and Tiffany Crowe of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Brian (and Chrystal) Maas of Lincoln; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Walraven; two foster boys and one foster girl; and three granddaughters and six grandsons.

He was preceded in death by one brother, his maternal grandfather and his paternal grandparents.

Eric loved the Cubs and was on a pool shooting team in Taylorville.

He graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1984.

Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
