[March 25, 2010]  METAMORA -- Railer baseball coach Pet Hake said before the season began that he felt good about his hitting and pitching. Yesterday at Metamora High School the hitting at least was there in a 9-8 win.

Winning pitcher for the Railers was Cory Yeazle (1-0). Yeazle went five innings, giving up six runs, only three of which were earned. He scattered five hits, struck out four and walked a pair. Joe Burge pitched an inning, giving up one earned run on two hits while he struck out two.

The save went to John White, who also gave up one run in an inning of relief, giving up two hits and a base on balls. White recorded all three of his outs on strikeouts.

Ryan Montcalm went 3-4, Ryan Aper was 2-3 with an RBI, and Tanner Smith was 2-4 with two batted in. Ritchhart, Hunsley, Cosby and Eimer all got hits in the contest.
