Wendy 'Pooh' Shumard

[October 28, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Wendy Sue "Pooh" Shumard, 43, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at home, surrounded by her family.

A celebration of her life will be on Nov. 13 at noon at the Little Chapel in Middletown.

Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Shumard was the administrator for Villa West Healthcare in Sherman.

She was born Nov. 13, 1966, in Peoria. Her parents were Jerry Allan Coffey Sr. and Sandra Kay Coffey. She married Douglas Shumard on Aug. 8, 1998, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband Douglas Shumard of Lincoln; her daughter, Meagan Shumard of Lincoln; her son, Shane Shumard of Lincoln; her stepson, Kaleb Shumard of Lincoln; her granddaughter, Hailey Shumard of Lincoln; her mother, Sandra Coffey of Middletown; her sister, Tammy Rodems of Middletown; three brothers, Jerry Allen Coffey Jr. of Peoria, Donny Allen Coffey of Middletown and Michael Allen Coffey of Lincoln; her grandmother Dorothy Pusey of Middletown; a very special nephew, Zakkary Coffey of Lincoln; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She was very active in fundraising events and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Funeral Directors

Her children and her family were the light of her life. She will be missed by all of those whose lives she has touched.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.
