Stiven Salinas, the leading scorer for the Lincoln team, scored two
minutes into the game off an assist from Isai Lemus. The goal came
from a nine-pass combination buildup. The Lincoln coaching staff
said that's how the Lynx played all year -- "jumping out strong and
scoring first."
The Lynx would follow up with another goal less than 10 minutes
later when Lemus slotted Salinas again for his 23rd goal of the
season.
Otera would find the back of the net to make it 2-1 with a few
minutes left at half.
The second half saw the Lynx take a bigger lead when Salinas
chipped a through ball for Edwin Moalosi for a breakaway goal.
Fernando Cano would set up the fourth and final goal with a long
diagonal ball over the top to Salinas, who slotted a ball, but the
keeper got his hand on it and Moalosi put the rebound in to finalize
the score at 4-1.

It was a great performance against a very strong Otera team from
Colorado. The Lincoln coaching staff was very happy the team bounced
back from the close, hard-fought loss the day before.
With the win, Lincoln advanced to play for fifth place at the
national Division I tournament. The Lynx were scheduled to play the
winner of Darton and Iowa Western at 9 a.m. Sunday for fifth and
sixth place. (See article.)
