Dorothy Laun

[November 22, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Dorothy Ileen Laun, 83, of Lincoln, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at The Christian Village.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Assembly of God in Lincoln. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Family and friends are invited to join in food and fellowship immediately following the service.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.

Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Miss Laun retired from Logan Correctional Center after many years of service there.

She was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Logan County. Her parents were George W. Laun and Marie H. Seefeldt.

She is survived by three sisters, Maxine Laun, Mary Laun and Betty J. Litwiller (and husband Carol "Sonny"), all of Lincoln; one brother, George J. Laun (and wife Sara) of Lincoln; five nephews, Roger Laun of Kildeer, Gary Laun of Lincoln, Mark Litwiller of Danvers, Rob Litwiller (and wife Gloria) of Atwood and Eric Litwiller of Danvers; two nieces, Nancy Limback (and husband Dave) of Valley Park, Mo., and Judy Cooley (and husband Mark) of Hummelstown, Pa.; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kristan Laun, Brian, Erin and Andrea Limback, Luke, Jessica, and Jennifer Litwiller, Stacey Trouth (and husband Jared), and Hilary LeHew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Neil Litwiller.

Funeral Directors

She was an active and devoted member of Faith Assembly of God in Lincoln, where she graciously planted the seed of faith by making sure children who wanted to attend had a ride to church and even blessing children with the financial resources to attend church camp.

She touched the lives of many people through baking cookies for her friends and their children and treating everyone as if they were the most important people in her life.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
