Isabel Anderson

[November 24, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Isabel D. Anderson, 88, of Lincoln, formerly of Springfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at 7:25 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery, with the Rev. John Pham officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Lincoln.

Miss Anderson retired from the Illinois Division of Mental Health McFarland Zone Center, where she worked as a nurse.

She was a captain in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

She was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Agassiz, British Columbia, Canada. Her parents were Charles Victor and Catherine Foley Anderson.

She is survived by one brother, Thomas B. Anderson of Naperville, and two sisters, Gladys (and Joseph) Edwards of Lincoln and Eva Lorenzi of Springfield.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Jean Anderson, Doreen Dorgan, Kathleen Johnson and Hilda Asumendi.

Funeral Director

She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Springfield.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Logan County or St. Clara's Manor.
