At the Fall Auxiliary and Volunteer Luncheon held at the American Legion, the ALMH Auxiliary gave a check for $21,295 to the Lincoln Healthcare Foundation to assist with the building of the new hospital.

President Sue Beaver, board member Carol Schwandz of the Lincoln Woman’s Club, and Wanda Lee Rohlfs of Main Street Lincoln were on hand at the Monday night city council meeting to receive a proclamation from the mayor designating an image of their building on North McLean Street as the official city of Lincoln Christmas ornament for 2010.

The building they have occupied for the last 80 years was actually opened in November of 1910 as the city’s first and only Jewish synagogue. The woman’s club has spent this year celebrating the century mark of the building and will top it all off with a formal celebration at the November meeting.
