Accidents

Oct. 21, 7:49 a.m.

Accident occurred in the 500 block of Woodlawn near North College.

  • Cox, Andrew A., 33-year-old male, Glen Mills, Pa.; 2001 GM Sonoma

  • Brandt, David D., 37-year-old male, Mount Vernon; 2001 Freightliner conventional 4x2 truck owned by Sun Containers

Brandt said he was eastbound on Woodlawn approaching North College. He was in the outside lane of traffic and saw that Cox was starting to exit a driveway into his lane. Brandt said he moved to the inside lane as he approached Cox, but when Cox turned, he went to the inside lane as well.

Cox was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.

Oct. 21, 3:50 p.m.

Accident occurred at the intersection of Washington and Short Eighth streets.

  • Ward, Donald K., 84-year-old male, Lincoln; 2006 Buick Lucerne

  • Anderson, Richard L. Jr., 53-year-old male, Hartsburg; 2007 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Alexander Lumber Co.

Anderson was northbound on Washington Street. He said the way was clear as he approached the intersection at Short Eighth, so he proceeded. He was almost through the intersection when Ward entered the intersection from the east and stuck his vehicle.

Ward told police that he did not see Anderson when he entered the intersection.

Ward was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Lincoln Police Department report for Friday, Oct. 22

  • Boss, Carol A., 49-year-old female, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 21 on Class A charge of retail theft. The location of the arrest was not noted on the citation.

Logan County Sheriff’s Department report for Friday, Oct. 22

  • Hackett, Michelle E., 42-year-old female, of Beason, arrested Oct. 22 at her residence on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear on charge of fraud connected with passing bad checks. Bond was set at $3,000, 10 percent.

  • Mollett, Jennifer R., 35-year-old female, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 22 in the 500 block of Keokuk on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear on charge of passing bad checks. Bond was set at $3,000, 10 percent.

  • Pezley, Denis J., 31-year-old male, of Keokuk, Iowa, arrested Oct. 21 on 800 Avenue at Interstate 55 on Class A charge of driving with a license suspended. His vehicle was turned over to his brother.
