Accidents

Oct. 21, 1:12 p.m.

Accident occurred at Eighth and South College.

  • Geskey, Patricia P., 22-year-old female, Lincoln; 1999 Chevrolet small conventional cab pickup

  • Kirk, Jerry, 63-year-old female, Lincoln; 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Geskey said she was eastbound on Eighth, had come to a full stop at the intersection, then proceeded east. She entered the intersection at the same time Kirk did and they collided.

Kirk said she also had come to a full stop, then proceeded into the intersection.

No tickets were issued in this incident.

Oct. 21, 6:03 p.m.

Accident occurred at Pulaski and Limit streets.

  • Aper, Melissa K., 25-year-old female, Lincoln; 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix

  • Leevey, David A., 46-year-old male, Lincoln; 1996 Ford F-Series pickup

Leevey was eastbound on Pulaski, nearing Limit and preparing to make a turn. He came to a full stop while waiting to turn and was rear-ended by Aper.

Aper told police she thought Leevey was negotiating the turn and didn't realize he was stopped.

Oct. 22, 7:22 a.m.

Accident occurred in the Walmart parking lot on the city's west side.

  • Hamilton, Erich, 20-year-old male, Macon; 2004 GM medium-duty sweeper truck

  • Brawdy, Linda K., 46-year-old female, Lincoln; 1999 Pontiac Grand Am

The Brawdy vehicle was parked, unoccupied in the Walmart parking lot. Hamilton said he was running the sweeper truck in the parking lot and misjudged the distance of his vehicle to Brawdy's, striking it on the rear corner. The impact pushed the vehicle to the side approximately 2 feet.

Oct. 22, 3:01 p.m.

Accident occurred at North Union near College.

  • Taylor, Tia M., 40-year-old female, Lincoln; 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

  • Coady, Thomas J., 77-year-old male, Lincoln; 2000 Buick LeSabre

Coady was southbound on Union, preparing to make a left-hand turn. He came to a stop for traffic.

Taylor said she was bending down to pick up something inside her car. When she looked up, she saw Coady stopped but had no time to stop; thus, she rear-ended him.

Taylor was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Lincoln Police Department report for Monday, Oct. 25

  • Bateman, Brandon W., 21-year-old male, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 24 at the Alley-Bi Saloon on Class 3 charge of aggravated battery.

  • Jones, Brandi N., 22-year-old female, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 23 in Latham Park on a Logan County warrant charging failure to appear. Bond was set at $2,500, 10 percent.

  • Taylor, William L. Jr., 29-year-old male, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 23 at his residence on Class 3 charge of aggravated battery and Class 4 charge of criminal damage to property in excess of $300.

  • Thomas, Gerald L., 19-year-old male, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 24 in the 800 block of South Kickapoo on Class C charge of violation of bond.

  • Turley, Timothy J., 22-year-old male, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 24 at Rumors on two Logan County warrants, each charging failure to appear.

  • Rentmeister, Erich J., 22-year-old male, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 23 at Centennial Courts on Class A charge of battery.

  • Roberts, Samuel M., 55-year-old male, of Lincoln, arrested Oct. 22 at Delavan and Sherman streets on Class B charge of possession of cannabis 2.5 to 10 grams and Class A charge of violating an order of protection.

Atlanta Police report for Monday, Oct. 25

  • Embery, Ira, 18-year-old male, of Atlanta, arrested Oct. 22 at the intersection of Arch and Race streets in Atlanta on Class A charge of illegal possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
