[October 26, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Charles Cotton, 54, of Lincoln, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at his home.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. A memorial service will follow at 12:05 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Charles was born March 24, 1956, in Decatur. He married Jeanne Sloan on Dec. 20, 2006.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; his children, Elliott Groves (and Dawn) of Lincoln, Darrell Groves (and Christina) of Alabama, Sara Beth Groves of Alabama and William Murdy of North Carolina; his father, Robert Ross of Dix; two sisters, Mary Nicodemus of Mason City and Janice Davis (and Bruce) of Louisiana; one brother, Jeff Ross (and Mary Kay) of Easton; three grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, grandmother and one grandchild.

He loved to fish, was a truck driver, a junker, a family man and an all-around good man.

Funeral Directors

He requested that casual dress and no black be worn to his memorial service.

Memorial donations may be made to Atlanta National Bank in the name of Charles or Jeanne Cotton.
