Tuesday afternoon a meeting hosted by representatives from the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois Commerce Commission and Images, a public relations firm out of Wheaton, brought together a large group of county and city officials as well as several other Logan County residents. The group listened to plans for the construction of tracks for a high-speed rail program that will run from St. Louis to Chicago, passing through Logan County. The topics of greatest concern to everyone present were the closure of crossings and public education and safety.
