Z. Eloise McFadden

[September 03, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Z. Eloise McFadden, 85, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson Street Christian Church. Mrs. McFadden's funeral will follow at 7 p.m. at the church, with Ryan J. Edgecombe officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Bicknell City Cemetery, Bicknell, Ind.

Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Bicknell, Ind. Her parents were Dallas Samuel and Zelda Jane Phillips Bicknell. She married Harry Robert McFadden on April 27, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 2007, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her children, H. Robert (and Jan) McFadden, David P. (and Debbie) McFadden, Kevin (and Reva) McFadden and Carol Bennett; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church.

Eloise was a pianist. She served as the choir director in the various churches in central Illinois and Indiana where she and her husband served during their lifetime together.

She graduated from the Freelandville High School in 1941 and then attended Cincinnati Bible College.

Memorials may be made to the family for a pianist scholarship to be set up at Lincoln Christian University.
