Nenita Jocson

[September 04, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Nenita A. Jocson, 74, of Lincoln, died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at her home.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln. There will be a rosary service at 4:45 p.m., prior to the visitation.

A Mass of Christian burial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Jocson retired in 1991 from employment with the state of Illinois as a registered nurse at the Adolf Meyer Mental Health Center in Decatur, where her late husband was medical director.

She was born May 3, 1936, in the Philippines. Her parents were Juanito Antonio Arreola and Catalina Picazo Bacalzo. She married Alfredo M. Jocson on June 25, 1960, in Chicago. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2006, in Peoria.

She is survived by her children, David Mark (and Renee) Jocson of Normal, Laura R. (and Brian) Hatfield of Maryland and Alfred John (and Caroline) Jocson of Rockford; a sister, Grace Arreola Nibungco of Indiana; a brother, John Arreola of Florida; and eight grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Lynn Jocson.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church or Carroll Catholic School.
