Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home of Springfield is in
charge of arrangements. She was born July 2, 1924,
in Springfield. Her parents were William and Ida
Adkinson Kane. She married George Stengel. He
preceded her in death in 1982.
She is survived by two daughters, Georgia (and
Gary) Warren and Cathy Greenleaf; one sister,
Lillian Smith; three grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers,
Merle, Donald, LaRue and Wilfred Kane; and two
sisters, Marjorie Kittell and Virginia Link.
She was a member of West Side Christian Church in
Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
made to the Good Sam Club, in care of The Christian
Village, 1507 Seventh St., Lincoln, IL 62656.
