New Holland-Middletown Education Association disappointed in Board of Education's rejection of contract

ToInsurance the editor:

The following statement has been issued following the Sept. 22 meeting of the New Holland-Middletown Board of Education:

"The NHMEA is disappointed by the Board of Education's rejection of the contract tentative agreement reached between the parties on August 20, 2010.

"The Association's team bargained in good faith and reached a fair agreement with the Board of Education that our members overwhelmingly ratified.

"We expect to hear from the five Board members who were not at the bargaining table as to what they found to be objectionable about the tentative agreement that those Board members who were involved in negotiations recommended the entire Board vote to approve.

"In sporting parlance, 'The ball is in the Board's court.'"

Diane Bicknell, president of the New Holland-Middletown Education Association
