Mildred Donath

[March 31, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Mildred Louise Donath, 89, of Lincoln, died March 31, 2011 at St. Clara's Manor.

She was cremated, and her ashes will be interred at St. Mary's Cemetery. There will be no visitation. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.

Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Donath was a homemaker. She worked at Seib's Hatchery in the 1930s and 1940s.

She was born April 28, 1921, in Lincoln. Her parents were William Paul and Hannah Caroline Hoffert Heinzel. She married Raymond Anthony Donath on Jan. 31, 1941, in St.Louis, Mo. He died Nov. 6, 1998.

She is survived by four children, Tony Donath of Stanford, William (and Shirley) Donath of Lincoln, Linda (and Tim) Madigan of Quincy and Edward (and Karol) Donath of Dawson; seven grandchildren, Sherry (and Rich) Henninger of Manito, Lisa (and Chad) Cale of Lincoln, Cindy (and Jeremy) Cale of Indianapolis, Ind., Tom Madigan of Middletown, Kim Madigan-Vought of Decatur, Crystal (and James) Taylor of Harrisonville, Mo., and Edward (and Bobbie) Donath Jr. of Decatur; three stepgrandchildren, Melody Bukowski of Bloomington, Christina (Anthony) Miller of Stanford and Jessica (and Kevin) Maurer of Stanford; 15 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Heinzel of Lincoln and Rita Donath Queen of Titusville, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Fred Heinzel, Bill Heinzel, Carl Heinzel, Paul Heinzel and Edward Heinzel.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or to a cause of the donor's choice.
