human cannonball is propelled from the barrel
moments before he died after a safety net failed
during the stunt at the Kent County Showground in
Detling, southeastern England, on Monday. The accident happened during a show put on by
Scott May's Daredevil Stunt Show, which has been
touring in the United Kingdom since 1991 and
features motorbike and monster truck stunts. Police
said that the 23-year-old man's next of kin have
been informed, but he has yet to be formally
identified.

Johnston is promising to set the
record straight about the Palin family. Touchstone Publishing has a
fall publication date for Johnston's book, "Deer in the Headlights:
My Life in Sarah Palin's Crosshairs."
Johnston fathered a child with
Bristol Palin, the daughter of the former Alaska governor, when they
were teenagers. The pregnancy was announced days after Sarah Palin was
selected as the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate.
Lincoln Christian University women's
basketball
coach Amanda Bowman is very happy to announce the signing of Moriah
Kirkpatrick, a 5-foot-8 guard from Mount Vernon Township.
"Moriah will bring experience from her high school and also from
having played one year at John Logan College," said Bowman. "She
will have the ability to help move our team up to the next level."
Kirkpatrick is the daughter of Billy and Linda Kirkpatrick. In her
senior year at Mount Vernon Township, she averaged 11 points a game and
was named as an honorable mention on the all-South Seven Conference
team.
