For modeling exemplary nursing skills,
Tara Morris was honored as Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital's March
Employee of the Month.
Elizabeth Twyman, a nurse in the emergency department at ALMH, says
Tara displays compassion, knowledge and helpfulness in all patient
and family situations.

"I realize this is her job, but the way she does it makes the
difference," Twyman says. "I know Tara is young and in the spring of
her career, but I view her knowledge, skills and interpersonal
skills as a role model."
Morris has worked at ALMH for six years. She recently transferred
to the emergency department after beginning her career at the
hospital in case management.
Besides her nursing degree, Morris has certifications in advanced
cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and as an
emergency care nurse and trauma nurse. She earned her bachelor's
degree in nursing from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
She says her day-to-day job in the Woods Center for Emergency
Medicine ranges from doing physical assessments and medicating
patients to preparing patients for other medical procedures.

"I like working at ALMH because of the closeness of co-workers,"
Morris says. "We all know each other on a first-name basis. You not
only see your co-workers at work, but also out in the community. We
aren't numbers or badge IDs to each other. We are friends -- family
in some cases."
ALMH employs more than 290 in a wide variety of job functions. A
different employee is honored each month for their commitment to
creating great patient experiences, getting great results, and
making ALMH a great place to work.
