[April 27, 2011]  The devastation brought on by earthquakes throughout the world in the past two years has captured the attention of all central U.S. residents, where earthquakes CAN happen. Geologists tell us that a damaging earthquake may strike the central United States at any time.

You can prepare your school, business, family or any place where people gather, by participating in the Great Central U.S. ShakeOut -- the largest earthquake drill in central U.S. history -- on Thursday at 10:15 a.m.

Listen to NOAA Weather Radio, or local radio and TV stations, at 10:15 tomorrow morning (Thursday) to participate in this earthquake drill.

For more information, visit the Great Central U.S. ShakeOut page on the Web at www.shakeout.org/centralus/.
