LINCOLN --
Aubrey "John" Bunner, 87, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011,
at 2:47 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. |
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, with military rites
conducted by American Legion Post 263.
Mr. Bunner retired from Lincoln Sand and Gravel
after 33 years as an operator engineer.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born on May 6, 1924, in Lincoln. His
parents were Pearl and Carrie Holtz Bunner. He
married Ella Mae Funston on Jan. 23, 1945, in
Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, in Lincoln; three
sons, Chuck (and Nancy) Bunner of Sidney, Neb., John
(and Tammy) Bunner of Lincoln and Albert "Buck" (and
Laura) Bunner of Lincoln; one daughter, Alecia (and
Lee) Green of Milpitas, Calif.; two brothers,
Delbert (and Mert) Bunner of Peoria and Richard
Bunner of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one sister, Mary Ann
Castile of Atlanta; 15 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother,
Charles F. Bunner. |
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge
2708 and American Legion Post 263.
