[February 04, 2011]  This year the Lincoln College men's soccer team had the best season ever: a conference championship, a Region 24 championship and the highest finish ever at the national tournament -- fifth place -- to finish with a final record of 18-2-4. One of the players, Stiven Salinas, has signed his national letter of intent to play at the University of Southern Florida.

Salinas is a graduate of Killian High School in Miami, Fla.

While at Lincoln College, he certainly put together an impressive resume. His freshman year, Salinas was voted Region 24 Forward of the Year and MWAC Freshman of the Year. His sophomore year, he again earned Region 24 Player of the Year, along with MWAC Player of the Year and was voted to the all-American team. He was one of the top 15 scorers in the nation his freshman year and this year was second in the nation in scoring.
