[February 10, 2011]  LINCOLN -- James Edward "Jim" Johnson, 66, a lifelong resident of Lincoln, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at his home.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be on March 19 at 11 a.m. at Zion Cemetery.

Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mr. Johnson was employed by PPG for 22 years and retired from Eaton Corp. in 2007 after 13 years with the company. 

He was born June 22, 1944, in Lincoln. His parents were Edward Axel Johnson and Viola Jane Davis Yeazle. He married Judith Ann Daugherty on June 20, 1964, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Yeazle of Lincoln; his wife, Judy, of Lincoln; two daughters, Jami (and Michael) Leach of Sullivan and Jonni (and Charles) Bone of Decatur; four grandchildren, Brandon Becker, Brian Becker, Austin Leach and Brittany Bone; two sisters, Naomi Veff of La Harpe and Carol Johnson of Washington state; and one brother, Michael Johnson of Burlington, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister, Mary Ann Johnson.

Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln.
