To the editor: On behalf of the Humane Society of Logan County, we
would like to give a HUGE thank you to Jim and Shelley Horn, who
allowed us to use the J&S Auto Centre/Penache building for
spay/neuter animal transports in January and February.
With the blowing wind and extreme cold, it would have been almost
impossible to process 50 animals in January and 40 in February if we
had to process the transport in the Steak 'n Shake parking lot,
which is our normal location for this monthly service. We have been
out in heavy rains, extreme cold and heavy wind, and it can be
utterly miserable for humans and animals.
Besides getting the animals spayed/neutered, our goal is to keep
the animals safe and warm until the transport truck arrives. After
the truck picks up the animals, it is kept at 70-72 degrees, but
until that time, it is our responsibility.
[to top of second column in this letter] |
Jim and Shelley generously not only let us use their building,
but kept the heat on and had the entire drive plowed out for the
HSLC transport team and all those using the HSLC/Animal Protective
League spay/neuter services.
We sincerely appreciate Jim and Shelley's support. From warm
hearts (along with toasty hands and feet, thanks to you), we thank
you both.
The transport team of the
Humane Society of Logan County
