Verna Atteberry

[January 06, 2011]  BEASON -- Verna Josephine Atteberry, 79, of Beason, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at 3:20 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darell Howard officiating.

Burial will be in Keys Cemetery, rural Beason.

Mrs. Atteberry was a homemaker.

She was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Beason. Her parents were Linus Everett and Lena Josephine Griffin Voyles. She married Harlan "Ike" Atteberry on Sept. 10, 1950, at the Beason United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, of Beason; three sons, James Atteberry of Tucson, Ariz., Gary (and Judy) Atteberry of Lincoln and Darren Atteberry of Lincoln; one daughter, Dena (and Daniel) Sale of Chatham; and four grandchildren, Kyle and Katelyn Atteberry and Evan and Madeline Sale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Bernadine Montgomery, Irma McAdams, Ilene Southern and Mildred Donnan; and one brother, Wayne Voyles. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral Director

She was a member of Beason United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Beason Card Club.

Memorials may be made to Beason United Methodist Church or ALS or the donor's choice.
