State's attorney: Attempted 1st-degree murder to be sought in Korn Krib robbery

[January 12, 2011]  The Logan County state's attorney issued the following news release Tuesday afternoon:

On January 8, 2011, Logan County Sheriff's Department arrested Jeremy S. Yates. On January 11, 2011, the Logan County State's Attorney filed a two count Information against Jeremy S. Yates alleging one count of Attempt (First Degree Murder) and one count of Robbery.

"The two count Information was filed in this case after our review of the investigation of the Logan County Sheriff's Department," according to Jonathan Wright, First Assistant State's Attorney. "The Information charging Jeremy Yates is merely an accusation and he is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty," continued Wright.

The Logan County State's Attorneys' Office also requested an increase in bond for Jeremy S. Yates which is now set at $1,000,000.00. The next court appearance for Jeremy S. Yates is scheduled for January 18, 2011 at 9:00 a.m.
