Lincoln and Logan County accident, incident and arrest reports

Accidents

Jan. 12, 10:35 a.m.

Accident occurred at the intersection of Pekin and North Butler streets.

  • Martin, Melvin R., 37, Lincoln; 2001 Ford Escape owned by Michelle R. Guise

  • Lane, Jacqueline L., 46, Lincoln; 2001 Toyota Camry

This accident occurred at the unmarked intersection of Pekin and Butler, where Martin was northbound on Butler with Lane being westbound on Pekin. As the two approached the intersection, according to rules of the road, Lane had the right of way and Martin should have yielded. Martin failed to do so. Lane told police that she attempted to avoid the accident by swerving her vehicle to the right but was unable to do so.

Martin received two citations in this incident.

Lincoln Police Department

  • Boyd, Zobia J., 21, of Kankakee, arrested Jan. 13 on Woodlawn Road at Taylor Court on a Logan County warrant.

  • Davis, Janiel D., 18, of Calumet City, arrested Jan. 13 in the 800 block of Malerich Drive on charge of retail theft.

  • Giles, Lori R., 37, of Lincoln, arrested Jan. 13 at her residence on a Logan County warrant for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of real property comprising public housing.

  • Griffin, Nakia L., 18, of Plainfield, arrested Jan. 13 in the 800 block of Malerich Drive on charge of retail theft.

Logan County Sheriff's Department

  • Clifton, Sarah L., 30, of Lincoln, arrested Jan. 13 at the Logan County Safety Complex on a Logan County body attachment warrant.

  • Thompson, Christopher T., 40, of Hartsburg, arrested Jan. 13 in the 100 block of South Logan Street in Lincoln on a Logan County warrant for failure to appear in answer to charge of driving with a license suspended.
