Robin Van Hoorn

[July 01, 2011]  BEASON -- Robin Van Hoorn, 69, of Beason, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in McLean Cemetery, McLean.

Mrs. Van Hoorn worked at the Baby Fold and was a homemaker.

She was born on Nov. 20, 1941, in McLean County. Her parents were Ralph and Normadel Tavener Alexander. She married Marvin Van Hoorn on April 2, 1961, at Funks Grove.

She is survived by her husband, in Beason; two sons, Marvin D. (and Tara) Van Hoorn of McLean and Scott (and Chrissy) Van Hoorn of Kenney; two daughters, Lori (and Tom) Johnson of Kenney and Shelley (and Curt) Heery of Lake Villa; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jane Goodwin.

She was a member of Beason United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a card club in Beason. She was an election judge in Oran Township.

She attended MacMurray College.

Funeral Director

Mrs. Van Hoorn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Memorials may be given to Beason Fire Department; American Cancer Society or Beason United Methodist Church.
