George Hoaglin

[July 13, 2011]  LINCOLN -- George R. Hoaglin, 82, of Lincoln, died Monday, July 11, 2011, at 10:05 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

He was cremated, and the family will have a graveside service later.

A guest book is available for family and friends to sign at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mr. Hoaglin retired from Cilco in 1991 after 38 1/2 years. He had worked as a journeyman meter man.

He was an Army-Air Force veteran of World War II.

He was born on Jan. 6, 1929. His parents were Gilbert W. and Thelma F. Brown Hoaglin. He married Betty Lou Turner of Elkhart on July 6, 1950.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one son, Robert Hoaglin; one daughter, Jeffry Sue (and Ronald) Armour; one brother, Richard (and Betty) Hoaglin; two sisters, Marsha (and Clinton) Coffman of Lincoln and Virginia Hoaglin of Lincoln; one granddaughter, Aletha Hoaglin of Bloomington; and a sister-in-law, Sandra (and David) Galvin of Bowling Green, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lois E. Hoaglin.

Funeral Director

He was a member of American Legion Post 263.

The family thanks everyone who has helped them and especially the staff at St. Clara's Manor who cared for him in his final days.
