Mr. Boughan, 88, died July 13 at 6:50 p.m. at The
Christian Village. Arrangements are by
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Boughan was retired from the Illinois attorney
general's office.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a prisoner of
war during World War II.
He was born on July 12, 1923, in Lincoln. His
parents were Vincent H. and Hilma V. Henke Boughan.
He is survived by one brother, Stanley (and Jenny
Lou) Boughan of Lincoln; one nephew, Stacy (and
Kimberly) Boughan of Mason City; and one niece,
Julie (and Bill) Becker of Naples, Fla.
He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and
American Legion Post 263.
He served in combat in North Africa during WWII
and then crossed the Mediterranean Sea to Italy. He
was captured during the invasion of Anzio in Italy.
He remained a prisoner of war and then was
transferred to Germany until the war was over in
1945. |
