The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such. To the editor: Logan County will lose a very powerful advocate, statesman, gentleman and someone who has always demonstrated honesty and respect for "we, the people," regarding state issues as well as our local issues, if he chooses to step down. He always answered our letters, our phone calls and appeared for most of our area events, big and small. He also commanded the respect of those from the opposing party. He always appeared to have done his homework regarding state and local-related legislative issues. We will also be losing 16 years of experience. Sen. Larry Bomke is a giant of a man and has always been and will remain my favorite local political representative. These are very large shoes to fill Lester C.
