Julia 'Judy' Lovdahl

[June 08, 2011]  MONMOUTH -- Julia A. "Judy " Lovdahl, 84, of Monmouth, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 6:40 a.m. at her home.

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Turnbull Funeral Home, 301 S. Main in Monmouth. Her family plans to receive friends from noon until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Lovdahl was a homemaker and loving mother to her family. She was known for baby-sitting area children in her home, which she did for many years. 

She was born on Nov. 10, 1926, in Warren County. Her parents were Edgar V. and Edith V. Murell Icenogle. She married John W. Lovdahl on June 13, 1944, in Monmouth, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters Joy (and Roger) Johnson of Monmouth and Janet Lovdahl of Lincoln; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Barbara (and Creighton) Lovdahl of Monmouth, Reva Zielke of Alexis and Janice (and Larry) Rader of Galesburg.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Mrs. Lovdahl was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church in Monmouth and for many years taught Sunday school.

She enjoyed gardening. She was known for remembering many on their birthdays. Her family mattered the most to her. 

She was raised in Warren County, where she attended school and graduated from Monmouth High School.

A memorial fund is being established and will be designated later.
