[June 13, 2011]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Janice Laree Denton, 88, of Mount Pulaski, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, 6:25 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Josh Bennett will conduct the service.

Arrangements were made by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Mrs. Denton had worked in Taylorville as a bookkeeper and owned and operated Mode O'Day clothing store.

She was born on Sept. 6, 1922, in Taylorville. Her parents were Guy and Ethel Neal Brockette. She married Marshal Denton on June 14, 1941, in Taylorville. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1976.

She is survived by one daughter, Jill (and Larry) Gabriel of Mount Pulaski; one son, Gary Denton of Chestnut; one granddaughter, Lisa Wilham of Kenney; one great-grandchild, Trae Masset; and two nieces, Royalene Michael and Colleen Kennedy of Colorado.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Masset II.

Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski EMS or St. Jude's Hospital.
