Ann Girdler

[June 23, 2011]  BLOOMINGTON -- Ann Girdler, 73, of Bloomington, formerly of McLean, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at 2:55 p.m. at her home.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, with Tony Billingsley officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in McLean Cemetery.

Mrs. Girdler was retired from Westminster Village, where she worked as a nurse's aide.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1937, in McLean. Her parents were Peona and Ruby Russell Grubbs. She married James Girdler in 1954 at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1979. She married Bill Radbourne in 2001, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (and Rita) Girdler of Minier and James Girdler of Bloomington; one stepdaughter, Reni Radbourne (and Mike McAtee) of Normal; a former daughter-in-law, Stacie Carroll of Bloomington; one sister, Dorothy Ross of McLean; six grandchildren, Myles and Sladen Girdler, Chance and Dusty Harmon, Doug Salch and Amber (and Abe) Schrlau; and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Randy Grubbs.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose and Eagles in Bloomington.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
