Eva Hill

[March 07, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Eva M. Hill, 68, of Lincoln, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at her home.

A graveside service for Mrs. Hill will be on March 26 at 11 a.m. at Zion Cemetery.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hill retired from secretarial work after serving for 20 years with Holland and Barry Funeral Home Ltd. and as secretary for the Logan County coroner's office. She also had been employed at the Apple Dental Clinic, Remington Hybrid Seeds, and as Logan County deputy clerk and recorder when Weldon B. Frantz was county clerk and recorder.

She was born June 20, 1942, in Lincoln. Her parents were James Herbert Sr. and Beulah Fay Rose Harris. She married Lawrence L. "Larry" Hill on Dec. 31, 1959, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Lisa Faye Hill and Lori Anne Hill, both of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Mathieu L. Helton of Lincoln and Samantha R. Helton of East Peoria; five great-grandchildren, Riley B. Helton, Charles Mathieu Helton, Addison Elizabeth Sidell, Kayla Lee and Gracie Lee; two brothers, James J. (and Ardella) Harris of Gravois Mills, Mo., and Aaron L. (and Pat) Harris of Springfield; three sisters, Laura Slayton of Lincoln, Leola Faye Jones of Gravois Mills, Mo., and Kay Petro of Woodlawn; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Harris of Sunrise Beach, Mo.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold W. "Bub" Harris, and one nephew, Michael Harris.

Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House.
