Blanche Boatman

[May 24, 2011]  ATLANTA -- Blanche Ruth Boatman, 86, of rural Atlanta, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 4:06 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Eminence Christian Church, rural Atlanta.

Her graveside service will be at noon Saturday at Niblick Cemetery, rural Atlanta, with Dr. L.C. Sutton officiating.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Mrs. Boatman retired from Logan-Mason Rehab Center in Lincoln.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1925, in Champaign. Her parents were Walter and Blanche Poynter Bloemker. She married Carl E. Boatman on April 8, 1945, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2009.

She is survived by their children, Nancy Langley, Wayne (and Kathy) Boatman and Roger (and Rene) Boatman, all of Atlanta; three sisters, Bessie Budde of Watson, and Ruby Parks and Bertha Leesman, both of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Yeazle and Eileen Woods.

Mrs. Boatman was a member of the Eminence Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of Eminence Christian Church.
