Michael Haley

[November 10, 2011]  GIRARD -- Michael L. Haley, 53, of Girard, formerly of Chestnut, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at 8:19 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Clinton Assembly of God, 801 S. Mulberry St. in Clinton. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with Pastor Dan Bell conducting the service.

Burial will follow in Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski is handling arrangements.

Mr. Haley worked as a professional painting contractor.

He was born on May 28, 1958, in Decatur to Larry and Shirley Courtney Haley. He married Donna Smallwood Greene on March 14, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He is survived by his wife, of Girard; two sons, Jared and Blake Haley of Girard; one stepson, Jason Greene of Divernon; his mother, Shirley Haley of Chestnut; two sisters, Debra (and Dennis) Wilham of Chestnut and Brenda Haley of Lincoln; and one brother, Jeff (and Tricia) Haley of Chestnut.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Michael was an avid fan of the Cardinals, played softball from 1992-2010, loved to ride his motorcycle and watch sports. He was also a talented drummer for the Christian band Gabriel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
