Edward Raymond Lemme

[November 09, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Edward Raymond Lemme, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at 12:15 p.m. at The Christian Village.

Mr. Lemme's funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Kaley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 263.

Ray was retired after 38 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 193.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was born Feb. 4, 1918, in New Holland. His parents were Victor John and Katherine Chandler Lemme. He married Lydia "Lee" Osborn on May 28, 1942, in Miami, Fla.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; three sons, David (and Kathy) Lemme of Williamsville, Daniel (and Cheryl) Lemme and Donald (and Christie) Lemme, all of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Christopher Lemme, Andrew Lemme, Brian (and Jennifer) Lemme, Katelyn Lemme and Tristan Lemme-Brosamer (and Scott); two great-grandchildren, Lauryn and Evan Lemme; one brother, Francis Eugene (and Joan) Lemme of Dixon; and one sister, Ellen Marie Wunderle of Mason City.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Roger Ray Lemme, and one brother, Charles Lemme.

Funeral Director

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln and a life member of American Legion Post 263 in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Lincoln, the building fund of American Legion Post 263, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital or The Christian Village.
