The national organization provides $128,000 in scholarships to the
national finalists, semifinalists and winners of the championship
contest. The purpose of the contest is to develop a deeper
knowledge and appreciation of the United States Constitution on the
part of high school students. Other objectives of the contest
include the development of leadership, the ability to think and
speak clearly and intelligently, and preparation for acceptance of
the duties and responsibilities, the rights and privileges of
American citizenship.
This is a great opportunity for any high school student in Logan
County -- freshman through senior years -- to participate in the
contest for scholarships.
High school students interested in entering the contest may pick
up pamphlets with rules for the 2012 contest from Lincoln Community
High School or from C. Wayne Schrader, phone 217-732-4759.
