Almeda Schick

[November 28, 2011]  CLINTON -- Almeda J. Schick, 88, of Clinton, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at 2:44 p.m. at John Warner Hospital.

There will be a private graveside service at Mount Pulaski Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Almeda was born on June 19, 1923, in Greenview to Martin and Rosie Boesdorfer Janssen. She married Frank C. Schick on March 1, 1947 in Illiopolis. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1979.

She is survived by one son, Dan (and Ruth) Schick of Latham; two daughters, Donna Yagow of Lincoln and Sharon (and Herman) Brown of Maroa; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and one great-great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Russell Martin Janssen, and a son-in-law, Dan Yagow.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clinton and of Young at Heart at the Christian church in Clinton.

Funeral Director

Almeda was known as "Shorty" by her close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Clinton or Salvation Army.
